Hard Drive Data Recovery

->> Does anyone have any experience with a reputable company in having data recovered from a hard drive? I have a Western Digital 500GB external hard drive that I need to have the data recovered from. I sent it to one company, who had it for months and could not get the "parts" needed to "fix" the drive, and I need to have the data recovered (I had not backed it up elsewhere - I have since purchased a DROBO for data back-up).

Feel free to e-mail me directly at brianw@sportsonfilm.com

Thanks!

->> Brian, I have heard that "Drive Savers Data Recovery" located in Novato, California, 20 minutes North of San Francisco is very good, however not cheap. Here is a link to their website.

->> Brian-

I used Data Recovery Systems for a 500gb RAID 0 array that failed on me last year and they had it back to me in around a week. Pricing can vary greatly depending on type of failure etc. Luckly for me it was the drive motor that went out so they could steal parts from one of the other identical drives in the array to recover the data off the bad drive. Recovery is not cheap though... mine ran around $1300. It am guessing it cost more than a standard drive since it was a RAID.

Hope this helps.

->> Oh yea, the bill for a total 250gb recovery from a trashed hard drive in 48hrs from Drive Saves was more than $3500... but worth every penny.

->> Easeus data recovery recovered 100% of my photos off a 1TB Western Digital External. Easy to use, and simple. Just follow the instructions.

I had to recover because I had formatted the drive accidentally
