->> Do any of you use the cybersync triggers that are offered on the AlienBees site? If so, how do they work for you?

->> I used the CST/CSRB's here at The Convo at Ohio University for a while to trigger remote cameras, as well as on location with small strobes.
They are incredibly reliable, but have the same interference issues that pocketwizards do. That being said, they are a steal for the price.
One thing you may want to know is that they cannot trigger a camera to burst, only one shot at a time. |

->> That really helps. Because I was considering them for a Strobe set-up. Thanks!

->> Also know that the battery powered receivers (csrb or crsb+) shut off if they don't receive a signal within 60 minutes. Huge PIA if you have to setup a few hours ahead of an event and can't be around to keep resetting the timer. This is not an issue on the line powered receivers.

->> I've been using the trigger and battery powered receivers for a couple years now, and haven't had a single misfire. They're a great cost-effective solution for firing strobes. As Joel said, they won't trigger a remote camera to fire continuous frames, so using them for sports remotes isn't practical.

->> As Eric noted, the time-out "feature" can screw you over if you aren't careful, but I "solved" that problem with a little bit of gaff tape!
Also of note, they come with a ton of cables. I wish PW's were the same way. That being said, they use the same sync port as PW's, so cables are cross-compatible. |

I do and have a few set ups on another site. Send me an email and I will try and help you out.

->> Joel does taping the button down defeat the timer???? Do tell, I'll crack that sucker open and solder the switch closed!

->> Worked for me, but that success might depend on the version of the receiver. You first! I sold mine and got MultiMAX's anyways.

->> Nope I'll use the Buff stuff to fire the strobes when I setup portrait shoots. I too planned on going with the MultiMax units. After reading the PDF for the latest FW update I'm sold....

->> I have one transmitter and three mains-powered receivers to sync three Alien Bee heads and they work great. I had a problem with one of the receivers after about 6 months and Buff replaced it immediately, not even waiting to get mine back before sending out a replacement.
