->> These videos from a recent race I was filming make me laugh now but they were pretty serious at the time.
Anyone else have and real close calls, with cars, players or something else?
In both of these vids I am the big bald guy closest to the track.

->> There is an old adage, "never turn your back on a race car."
I see you adhered to that rule. Just like Jimmy Stewart in Rear Window. |

->> Why do people say "Near Miss" when it was actually a "Near Hit"?
Nice footwork Matt. And everyone says to watch out for running backs! |

| ->> It's not always the race cars. I remember back in the '90s shooting a USAC midget race at a dirt track in Bakersfield, CA where the driver of the pace car seemed to take great pleasure in scattering the photographers every time he came off the track after re-starts. |

| ->> yes, at the IRL pro series race at Kentucky Speedway in 2003. I'm the little blob standing behind the fence where the car hit. Have paid a lot more attention to my surroundings since then. http://www.tinyurl.com/KYIRLcrash |

->> Mark,
I refer you to George Carlin at around the 4 minute mark in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DagVklB4VHQ
When two planes almost collide they call it a Near Miss, no its not its a Near Hit. A collision is a Near Miss, *BANG* "look they nearly missed" |
