| ->> I want to set up a wireless remote with a canon 50D and a 17-55, 2.8 in a soccer goal. Can anyone recommend the optimal hardware for this. I see multiple pocket wizard options and it gets very confusing. |

->> Steven,
Depending on how many other photographers you are dealing with you should be able to get by with the basic Pocket Wizard Plus four channel units with the proper trigger cable for the 50D.
If you are in an area where you are among many photographers setting up remotes where you may find some stepping on toes channel-wise then the Multi-Max units are good because of the extra channels to choose from. |

->> do you want to have the ability to do a burst mode or will a single shot every time you hit the button do fine for you?
I can set you up with something for the single shot. |

->> Here in the UK soccer is one of my big things perhaps being a much bigger sport this side of the pond.
I'm shooting with the 2 multimax units, the trancever on top of a D3 with 70-200 attached. The actual remote is pre-focused with a 24-70 lens @ f4 on board another D3, not forgeting the pre-release cable.
But you can easily get by with the 4 channel ones if there aren't any other photographers around. |
