Since the images dont fit any of the comps (Weeks work, folio, clip contest) i was simply after some critique on my member page images from a recent set of work.

->> #5 should be your lead, initial image. It's an old adage from TV: Put a face on the story.
Follow with #8, shows the spillway and illustrates the flow of water.
#10, the pipeline, just doesn't read, at all. Could you have shot along the pipeline with a long lens?
In general, too much wide angle. Use a tele to add some variety to your look.
Either tilt the horizons severely, as in deliberately, or get them level. If you don't use projected lines in the camera, then correct the horizons in post.
I would not show these 10 as a group, either find others that offer more variety of looks or pare it down to at most six images.
Excellent exposures, did you use a polarizing filter, the clouds really pop. |
