->> I doubt it...according to the statement as posted by Bloomberg: “Tiger Woods will be speaking to a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates at 11:00 a.m. EST Friday at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse."
Also, "No questions or video cameras will be allowed at the meeting, Steinberg said. A pool of reporters would be present". |

->> Dang, Matthew, you want to fire everyone lately...the entire TSA, and now Tiger's agent...lol.
Undoubtedly Chuck Sr. is referring to the media circus that will be on hand to cover the dog-and-pony show from the outside.
"We're here in Florida standing not far from the non-press-conference we weren't invited to providing the same commentary on pool footage that we could have done from our studios in New York..." |

->> Let in or not there will be a hoard of photographers outside the venue trying to get a shot of him entering/leaving more than likely.
Matt, not sure you can relate how this is being run to if he learned anything as they are not related at all. These type of short statement only with no question events happen a lot, though seems odd that more media is in the white house pool than Tigers for this. Do agree the handling of everything hasn't been the greatest (waiting so long, disappearing, etc) but it's more than likely his choice with some advisement. My guess is there will be a full blown news conference at some point. |

->> Mike,
To be honest I really do not see Tiger doing a full blown news conference, that is not how he rolls.
I can see him just one day showing up at a tourney ready to play. |

->> Matt,
Don't think it can be avoided, no matter what he does the questions will come up until he sits back and answers them. Kind of like the whole steroid thing, it will have to be done or just build up and get worse. He and his agent have to know that, it's common sense. This is more the statement that most people do on paper, except he's doing his in person. Unless he answers EVERY single question (doubtful) in his statement he'll have to do a full blown conference or it will get worse. People forgive, they don't forget - especially when the person just avoids the questions. |

->> Mike,
Up to this point he has done exactly what others have said he should do lol he has bucked the system of forgiveness, to this point.
He really is quite controlling and I can't imagine him going into a situation where he won't know the questions being asked. |

| ->> My guess is the week before he plays his next tourney he will have a one-on-one with either Larry King or Barbara Walters. He'll handle a few soft balls and that will be that. The viewers will eat up his well rehearsed replies. He doesn't have to talk to anyone at a tourney. Don't hold your breath waiting for Tiger to tell his tale, ain't gonna happen. |

->> What a let down, I saw Chuck's post "Forget the Olympics...." and I automatically assumed that he was announcing the creation of the first ever ...
...Chucklympics
I guess I have to wait a bit longer for that announcement and to get credential application information from the International Chucklympic Committee |

Poor Tiger. Still trying to control what cannot be controlled. By the time he learns he'll be eligible for the Champions Tour. |

->> I've thought about this a little, and I have to say:
Tiger isn't listening to anyone else and has decided to deal with his problems as he sees fit, and is not taking them lightly.
If he was just doing what his publicist told him to do I'd sit here and think "Yeah, he's going into a 12 steps program for show"... He's not doing that though.
He's doing what he sees as right - which is apparently to withdraw from competition and the public spotlight and deal with issues in his life, and I respect him for that. |

->> What can he possibly say besides apologizing to his fans and sponsors?
Sure, he's been in rehab in Hattiesburg, Ms. (whatever). But what could he possibly say to provide an excuse?
It's a disease?
I was drunk?
They slipped something into my drink?
All the pressure made me do it?
It has to just be a conference to get past the dreaded apology, so he can get on with his career. |
