->> So even in our limited free, non-work time, we do cool creative stuff for fun.
I'm a jazz nerd, collect and wear lots of wild sneakers and shoes and love drinking and pulling espresso shots and have a vintage espresso machine.
I also rock climb and love horror films.
What are some of the weird/wild hobbies you all have? |

Mountain biking (fun and racing) and dirt biking have also been in my past.
And I'm with Peter: LOST! Great episode tonight AGAIN! |

I have also played lead guitar in area bands, and I observe globular star clusters and planets with a 10 inch reflecting telescope. I have recently started listening to shortwave radio again too, so I'll have to listen for Eric Canha. I also enjoy surf fishing on the Jersey Shore, but we have not made the trip in a couple of years. |

->> Whenever I get the chance, I enjoy scuba diving and skiing.
As a general bit of advice, if you ever go scuba diving in Cuba, I recommend bringing along your own regulator and gauges...the rentals there are just like their cars....old and classic, but don't necessarily work like they did in their prime! I found that out at about 45 feet down with less than 100 PSI left in my tank...glad I decided bang my gauge around as it was stuck at 1500 PSI for 15 minutes! :) |

And I too like to fish. Never got to do much as a kid, but my last few years of college I got way into it.
No boat, but I like hiking the backwoods trails along creeks, rivers and lakes shores to find places where nobody else has ever fished (as far as I can tell). |

Don't get a chance to do any of that now so my lone escape when there's time is movies, and 90% of the time I'm working on something when watching! |

->> Like you Nic, I love pulling shots of espresso and drinking espresso at local coffee shops. My favorite roast right now is Barefoot Coffee's The Boss. I also love architecture, design, cooking, fly fishing, rock climbing and soccer.
Also what espresso machine are you using? I read a lot of the http://www.coffeegeek.com forums though I'm only using a 30 dollar espresso machine right now... hopefully one day I can upgrade to something with a dual boiler or heat exchanger. |

->> I don't even know where to start. In no particular order:
- Football (the real kind, not the one with pads and countless play stoppages).
- Cycling
- Rock climbing
- kayaking
- Golfing
- Geocaching
- Woodworking (Furniture, fine woodworking, cabinet making...)
- watch making (combining with the above to build a Grandfather clock)
- Gaming
- Pointing out when people are wrong
- Target shooting
- Driving
- Coin collecting
- Stein collecting
- Beer (not joking either. I've actually taken vacations around europe just to sample different beers. According to the "beer diary" I've had roughly 650 different brews since I started keeping it in 2002.)
- traveling
- learning new languages
- learning in general ( I try to take between 1-3 courses a year just for the heck of it, ranging from history, to business to physics... It's probably why I come off as a know it all all the time.)
- physics (I actually have more books on theoretical physics than I do photography.)
I've always had a problem with sleeping and was diagnosed with chronic insomnia about 14 years ago after it escalated to where I was only getting about 20 hours a sleep a week for two straight months. I wasn't tired really and it was just a nuisance so I didn't want to take any medications due to my course load. They recommended that I pick up more hobbies and other things that could challenge and wear out my brain so that I could sleep.
It was actually fairly effective and I started to get more than 3 hours of sleep a night. That led to me pursuing a dual major as well as picking up literally dozens of hobbies. All the cross disciplining has also led me to be one of the most fun people you'll ever sit next to on an airplane because I can carry on a conversation with anyone about anything and actually be in to the conversation. |

| ->> I spend most of my free time instructing a colorguard/winterguard (not ROTC this is the girls and/or guys on the field that spin rifle, flag and sabre) at a local high school. Me and a friend choreograph the show for marching season and design and choreograph the entire show for winterguard. So, when I have free time I sometimes go to a local park and spin rifle and sabre (or go under the stadium at LSU where it is usually dry even if it is raining). It is a great stress relief to toss a 7 on a rifle when I have had a stressful day. Though, it is funny sometimes the stares I get from people passing by. |

Dual sport motorcycle - My Kawi KLR650 and its "farkles" are a major obsession. I live in dual sport heaven here.
Light sport pilot - I fly an Airborne trike for fun and stress release - think oversize hang glider wing with two seats and a motor hanging below. Light sport is FAA's designation that means registered aircraft that are not quite real airplanes but not ultralights
