Backup Software suggestions please?
Armando Solares, Photographer

->> Hello,

I am in need of software that can back-up one external hard-drive to another automatically. Perhaps it can be done once a week or so.

Is there anything out there that can do that and that you have used successfully?

I also want it to the same (eventually) to two internal hard drives.

The least expensive but the best of course.

thanks,

Armando

->> For Mac I like SuperDuper but Carbon Copy Cloner is also great.

Both allow you to set schedules to regularly back up. Both create bootable backups of your main drive so you can easily keep working from an external if the internal crashes.

I know SuperDuper is shareware and you do need to pay a little for all of the functions and I think CCC is the same.

->> You may already have a program on your system.

McAfee Virus Suite comes with a backup program that you can schedule incremental backups to run in the background. If you don't want to spend the bucks for something else, it really reliable. The only issue you might have is when your subscription runs out the back system shuts off until you renew.

I think I will buy it. But I'm going to run it again a few more times before I purchase it.
