->> I usually don't even consider posting stuff like this, but the arrogance of this woman is amazing. Since it will probably get flagged and removed before anyone gets a chance to read the ad, I copied and pasted it. I'm always suspicious of anyone claiming to be "award winning" LOL
Could anyone be stupid enough to take this gig? Not only work for free but supply all the equipment for the shoot for free as well, I guess this woman is so successful because her overhead is so low with all the free labor and not having to buy any lighting gear.
Photo assistant needed for NYC project in Seattle (Seattle)

Looking for a photographer or a photographers assistant who has equipment (lights, reflectors,etc.) not a camera, who would be interested in assisting a successful, award winning NYC based art/fashion photographer for the day of April 11th on a fashion shoot. It will be a high fashion location shoot using couture gowns and professional models, hair, and makeup. It is unpaid but is going to be lots of fun with fun creative people and you can have all the images you need for a portfolio.
The photographer is flying in town for the weekend and is bringing her camera but was hoping to be able to use your equipment. The shoot will be on location and will be the better part of the day. Please respond if you are truly interested and please do not be flaky. Thanks so much!
* Location: Seattle
* it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests
* Compensation: no pay

->> that ia the craziest thing I've ever seen.
"is bringing her camera but was hoping to be able to use your equipment."
wth? so...they're paying for make-up artists, models, hairdresser's and high fashion gowns and all of this is for a fashion shoot that said "photographer" has no equipment? that's got to be a joke. |

->> Oh come on! They are:
"a successful, award winning NYC based art/fashion photographer"
Ahhhhhhh, if they were a successful, award winning art/fashion photographer, wouldn't having an assistant and equipment for travel be part of normal operations?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Maybe they really AREN'T successful and award winning... |
