->> When is Canon going to take one of their excellent chips (from a 7D or 5DMk2) and put into into a damn video camera? Something with a video form structure, variable frame rates and a couple of decent XLR audio inputs would be nice. Sell the body (which would take EOS lenses) for $4000 and freakin' clean up!

->> I agree with Jim. I see the same opportunity existing for Nikon as well. And Canon's video dept. might not have a choice. Someone is going to create a new hardware format that will force this cinema-style video capture as the new standard.

->> There's a rumor that Canon is secretly testing a camera that shoots a HD uncompressed RAW format, which would mean quality like the RED camera. Only a rumor - we'll see if anything comes out at NAB this April or later this year.
