TT Airport Security as a temporary backpack?

| ->> In need of some last-minute advice. Has anyone ever skied with a ThinkTank Airport Security using the shoulder straps? I'm not talking all day, all over the mountain. I'm just trying to figure out if I could get away using it to ride up the lift, ski to my location on course, then ski down when I'm done shooting, instead of having to also pack my LowePro backpack. |

->> I find that the straps are pretty flimsy and I wouldnt trust them. So I am not totally sure on how to answer this question because if you fall on snow then it depends on how packed it is. If powder, Id think you be fine, but If thin snow/ice then I would go in the other direction. So It totally depends on the situation. I would walk up and down stairs a bit to see if you can handle the weight on your back the entire time.
How much gear are you taking? I might be willing to loan you a bag that might work for you, unless you are looking to be buying the TTAS? |

| ->> Thanks David. That's what I needed to hear. I'm trying to pack four bodies and six lenses. I have my LowePro pack that I would be much more comfortable with on the hill, I mainly need the ThinkTank so I can carry all of the gear on my flight. I think I can still make my packing scheme work even if I have to take the LowePro, it's just going to be a little more crammed than I had hoped. |

->> Byron,
What all are you planning on taking? Have you considered looking into say the expedition 7x or 8x? I am not sure what all you shoot but that will offer you more protection and some good space. I carried quite a bit in my 7x before I got my TTAS. |

->> Bryon, another thing to consider would be shipping the lowepro
to your hotel. even two day would probably be cheaper than an extra bag fee on the airline. good luck |

| ->> Thanks Chuck. I think I can get it to fit in the rolling duffel bag I'm taking, but I may ship it on my way back. |

->> Juliann: I thought about that, but I was leery of counting on something I hadn't personally seen.
David: I am a big fan of Mountainsmith, and will definitely be looking at that pack when my LowePro dies. |
