Who do we think are the up and coming SS Shooters?

->> I like the best shooters thread and I thought this might be interesting. There is some incredible talent out there, and not just shooting sports. My question, whether it be through portfolio reviews, the contest or just simply looking through member pages - who will be in the next generation of top-notch photojournalists from the SportsShooter ranks?
Here is my list in no particular order: Diego James Robles, Patrick Fallon, Patrick Smith, Drew Angerer, Ryan Henriksen and Michael Chen.
I would say to qualify, they would have to be either in school or out of school for less than two years (give or take). |

Scott: Very good idea for a thread. Thanks. |

http://www.sportsshooter.com/members.html?id=5336
Not only did he get 1st place in the Student Contest, but also placed 1st and 3rd in the News category of the Monthly Clip Contest as well. I've watched his stuff improve a great deal over a short period of time and he's always willing to try new things and take chances. |

->> I did leave out Luke, sorry, lots of talent on here. And, there is a kid who interned with the Boston Red Sox and I just can't remember his name. He put out some nice images as well.
And that kid Lau someone mentioned. Man, that is some dedication to get some images. I get sea sick just looking at those photos. Nice stuff. There are also two who work for me who I think are talented, but I didn't think it was appropriate to toot their horn - sorry guys, you know who you are. |

I love ya man, sensitivity is optional.
As for the young ones, many of the names already mentioned. BUT,PLEASE don't base your future on sports photograpy alone. |

->> I am very happy with the list here. Some great young, hungry photographers. Also, I know he isn't a SS member, but from that Annenburg list from Aaron's link there is one guy who many might not know about - Joel Grimes. He does some amazing portraits.

Dustin Snipes is pretty damn good with the portraits as well, but we all knew that. |

| ->> Fer sher, absolutely and without question, Patrick Fallon. I had the pleasure of meeting him after an 8-hour trip from LA, on his way to do spec coverage of the Yosemite fires. Drove all day, went shooting on spec, slept in his car, ended up not getting anything and just turned around and went home not complaining one bit. Seriously, The guy is mature way beyond his years, has a very firm grip on what he wants to achieve, and seems to be doing everything right in moving his career forward in this difficult environment. He has no ego, and oh, did I mention he takes really good images? Talent, maturity, focus... My money is on him. |
