->> Just saw this on Yahoo news. I do watch some skiiing, isn't that a normal tuck position?

I like the cover.

->> Wow. She's a skier ... who is sking on the cover of a magazine. Stop the presses. Her butt is a little high for her tuck, but it's a compositional thing to keep that ridgeline behind her more cleanly in the frame.

They're pissed off that only 4% of SI covers have shown women then get pissed off when a woman graces the cover of SI's Winter Olympics Preview? Makes no sense.

As Mr. Chase says in his story, "It's not as if SI put her in a bikini in a Whistler hot tub." She's SKING for god's sake.

->> Interesting Robert - don't see this as sexualized as that person is claiming, some people will just assume anything. Where were the people complaining when a male athlete is "objectified"? Double standard for some.

->> Elite female athletes enjoy higher levels of commercial success if they are also physically attractive. It's not fair but it is a fact.

It's also a fact that sports is big business and that sex sells. If sex weren't a component, she wouldn't be wearing make-up or have her hair done.

->> Natalie Gulbis, Anna Kournakova....both were/are great for their sport even though their records are less than stellar. Certainly neither would have been so popular had they not been blessed with great looks. Nothing wrong with that at all. Heck if Natalie all of a sudden started winning, it'd be huge for the LPGA!

->> I think that she just happens to be the "face" of the Olympics from the US perspective. She started her career here in Mpls. on Buck Hill and indeed has gone on to be a mega talent in the world of women's skiing. I just hope that she doesn't suffer from the "SI curse now that she's on the cover! As far as the pose goes, I see nothing wrong with it. She is a downhill skier, after all.
