Shooting my first NHL game..... Any Advice?
David Dermer, Photographer

->> Im shooting my first NHL game Thursday in Columbus (Blue Jackets Vs. Stars).

I have shot lower level hockey before many times CHL, ECHL, USHL, AHL.

Also I did not know if there is anything I should keep my eyes open for and notice.

I didnt of know any league policies that I should be aware of for the game, if there are any.

Thanks

->> As far as I know Jamie Sabau is still the team photog down there in Columbus and is one of the nicest guys you could ever meet plus he is a member on here as well. I've shot there a few times over the past year or two and everybody down there is super nice and willing to help out. They typically assign shooting locations and you can always find room near the tv cameras up top. It's a really nice facility they have in Columbus you should have a good time. Not sure how much this helps but it should give you a start.

->> Jonathon, thats perfect advice. I have only been int he building once and that was for the NHL draft in 2007 as a fan. so knowing that there is an earea up top to go helps alot. And knowing that the sports are assigned is good to know to.

Josh. That picture is priceless. That guy has to feel pretty bad about that.

->> I put up 4 pics from the game on my page. The arena was amazing. And while the game was a little boring I wouldnt have traded in the chance to take photos at it for the world.
