How to skin a cat

->> Well, not really "skinned" (at least in the traditional sense), nor a "cat". Leave it to Annie Leibovitz to expose more parts previously unseen (remember Miley Cyrus a few months ago?).
http://tiny.cc/A5wAM (sorry, I don't know how to make this an active link)
I'm surprised there have been no comments (that I've seen) about the topless Tiger on the current Vanity Fair. Unlike Miss Montana and the Queen of England, he's a sports person, and I would have thought someone (else) would have mentioned the photo by now.
(The posters on the magazine's website are even suggesting steroid and/or HGH use/abuse.) |

->> You mean you think the photo is bordering on softcore pornography?
My only issue with the photo was that it wasn't in focus. |

->> I'm a little confused, and trying to figure out the reason for this post.
Are you comparing a photo of a 15-year-old female draped in a sheet to and adult male with his shirt off, and wondering why there's no outrage? |

| ->> I'm wondering why there is nobody asking why they made him look darker and show him wearing that sinister looking cap.......remember the OJ photo that so many people made a fuss about? |

->> I was merely calling attention to the photo. No, I am not looking for outrage and I'm not saying it's softcore porn. And it wouldn't be the first time photos are toned to have an other-than-realistic look. (I believe magazine covers are considered more "commercial" than "editorial" in nature.)
I don't know if it's an accurate portrait of Woods -- it's certainly not his previous image, but maybe it does capture the real man. |

->> It's soft-focus porn.
Actually, i really does remind me of the OJ cover on NEWSWEEK that they darkened to make him look more evil. |

->> Stew,
At the risk of being called a nit-picker, the phrase "more evil" presumes guild before the facts are - or were - known. Remember, we're photo journalists. |

->> Dave, ok. the graphic artists darkened OJ to make him look evil, or sinister, etc etc. sorry, my subconscious must have made my fingers write "more".
I referenced that photo, along with many others, like the moving of the pyramids on the Nat. Geo cover, as part of my thesis on digital imaging ethics in photojournalism. I take my ethics (and copyright) very seriously.
I heard all these photos of Woods were taken before he crashed his car. Is that true? |

->> Stew, That was Time that had the darkened OJ cover. Newsweek has had its own share of transgressions.
