->> Please, please tell me there's at least one thing having to do with Sasquatch. Being that close to an area with so many sightings is, sadly, one of the things I'm looking forward to the most.
What can I say, having grown up in Chupacabra central (South Texas), I have an affinity for all things Cryptid.
I want to believe.

->> G.J.,
I was up in Vancouver two weeks ago - coinciding with the last Sasquatch sighting... but I swear... it wasn't me! |

->> They are Lowepro bags,
The will be way better than the bags that Canon gave out in Torino.
Remember those? The breakaway bag! |

| ->> I am just curious, who gets these bags? How do you get them? who gives them away. I will be covering my first olympics in Vancouver, and will try to attend the photographer reception on Feb 11th. I have heard rumours of stuff like this, and was wondering if there is any more info on this. |

->> Oh man that's funny -- glad you're OK, Steve. I always worry about that when covering the Stars, but so far, so good.
Actually another one of our staffers, Courtney Perry, has a real nice series of Ribeiro (might be wrong on that; can't remember) stumbling toward her ice shooting position and somehow getting his whole glove through the glass hole, punching her in the camera.
Funny stuff.

->> Scott,
It varies by Olympics as to what is given away where. Some items are given away at the NPS and CPS (and formerly Kodak) counters when you check in at the photo area for the first time.
Other things are given away at "outside" events like the receptions. Olympic rules don't allow certain things to be given away on official Olympic property due to official sponsorships, etc. |

I'm looking forward to rubbing shoulders with some of the big boys. I've shot a fair number of World Cup events before but first time at the big Show. |

->> This tidbit from Fred Lum, a staffer at the Globe and Mail who might have seen the bag and is a lurker on this site.
He probably spends too much money on film and paper to cough up for a membership!
"There's supposed to be enough space for a laptop between the gear and the back panel/lid. not super spacey but supposed to be. would need a slim laptop sleeve though. if one used different dividers, would be easy fit for 13" macbook" |
