->> I posted this question earlier this month or possibly late December. But for some reason, I can't find the post.
I'm in the process of making a DVD with music to be played on a big screen at an event. I have the images scanned and ready to go. I'm just curious as to how and if I can burn a DVD using iPhoto to be played on a DVD player. If I recall correctly, iPhoto renders the slideshow much better then iDVD and is much more straight forward.
Any assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone! |

->> Dirk,
I'm not an iLife user, but isn't the application that creates DVDs called iDVD?

->> Hi Dirk,
I tried to do it in iPhoto, but I could not get it to export in anything but Quicktime or MP4 files, which only Divx DVD players can play (if I remember correctly). You can export a slideshow directly from iPhoto that will play on the iPhone, Apple TV and computers, but not DVD players. You might want to look at picking up Roxio's Creator 2010, or try iMovie. I use iMovie and transfer it to iDVD with no issues. |

| ->> If I remember correctly, take the slideshow from iPhoto, import it into iDVD and burn to a DVD that will play in a DVD player. |

->> Once you have your quicktime movie created, open iDVD, select your template, then drag the MOV file onto the first page of the template (not into one of the text entry boxes) and hit the burn button.
If you want to create chapters or any of the other menu functions it will require a few more steps, but to just get a MOV file onto a DVD this works very well. |
