->> Andrew Fredrickson and I made this little video comparing the entire Canon 1D series line of cameras. Tests include image quality, frame rate, ISO handling and of course, the focusing. Pretty interesting results in my opinion.
We were a little rushed in regard to time for the earlier tests and understand this is pretty opinion based because of the youtube quality and lack of full res images, but it is still a pretty interesting test.

->> Looks good Jimmy, solid review and test.
When you were shooting the kid kicking the soccer ball, how high of an ISO did you go with the Mark IV? |

| ->> Did you have the WB on auto for both photos under the video or can the 1D4 really do that. |

->> Matthew:
We only used ISO 3200. Our plan was to do 6400 and 12800 too, but we simply ran out of time with the soccer shots.
Brian:
Both are Auto WB. That was also an interesting note about the mkIV. The auto WB seems to be quite a bit different than the mkIII, mkII, and 1D classic.
By no means should this mini test be used in regard to purchasing the mkIV. The pictures in the video were literally our first time out with the mkIV, and we thought it would make for an entertaining video in which gear heads might enjoy. |

| ->> Would you say the Mark IV is better able to get a correct WB then the other cameras? |

From the very limited tests, yes. Especially indoors. |

| ->> No problem guys thanks for the comments! Let me know if there are any other tests you guys might be interested in. Returned the 1D III since it was just a rental. I'm planning on borrowing a friends 7D and 5D II, then test those out against the 1ds III and 1d IV. |

| ->> Nice job and the comments / requests on your blog already outline some of the items i am interested in seeing. The only item that I am looking for at this point is how quickly does the Mark IV pick up focus when you start tracking a subject, especially in high contrast lighting because that was a serious issue with the Mark III. I know Seattle may not be the place to do that during the winter time but just a thought. Other than that thank you for taking the time and effort to put this together. Nice job. |

->> Jimmy,
thanks for doing this video. It was helpful as I evaluate my needs. I was struck by the differences in WB for the indoor shots between the MKII and MKIV.
Cheers. |
