->> I've done pretty well without ever having an agent or an agency trying to book me jobs however. I was told by someone who's opinion I sincerely respect that I should look into getting an agent...
So, my questions for everyone are...
Do you have one?
Did you seek them out or did they seek you out?
And lastly... if you did seek them out... Where?
Thanks everyone... |

->> This is a pretty interesting read that I ran across this afternoon about the Stockland Martel agency, more about the commercial and advertising world, but still some relevant points.

->> Back when I graduated having "Reps" was the most important thing in the world!!
Back there it was I think, when I was doing "General" Commercial Photography.
Since then, I have picked a "Niche" Clientele and I can do the sales myself and save the 25%.
Dumb question, is there enough money in Sports Photography or PJ to justify loosing 25% in Rep Fees?? They better be bringing in at least 2 or 3 $1500/day jobs per week to justify having one. Even in the Commercial Photography world, I have lots of reservations giving up 1/4 of my Day Rate to anyone, they better be REALLY, REALLY good and bring in a lot of High Profile jobs to justify the expense.
But that's just my opinion and I reserve the right to be wrong.
