#12 Plan, plan again and plan some more -
Create a series of fluid plans based on various scenarios such as what would you do if you were laid-off tomorrow, in 30 days or 90 days. Plan every minute detail of your life after layoff. Then make a backup plan for each of these plans and then another backup plan for each of those. This makes it easier to hit the ground running the minute you are escorted out of your place of employment. Plan for success not for failure.

#13 Gather intel -
Unless you are the only photographer in a 20 mile radius of your residence, you will be competing for the same work as one or more photographers in your area. Learn their strengths and weakness. Collect business cards, brochures, flyers phone numbers and email addresses from everyone that you can now to use in the future to contact potential clients.
