->> Hey Matt,
This should be a cool thread, I hope more people chime in.
My favorite apps for my G1 are:
-Cab4Me (Tells you the cab companies servicing your area based on GPS data, and provides one-touch call capabilities)
-Flashlight (does what it says)
-Pixelpipe (syndicate photos, video out to "feeds" like facebook, twitter, flickr)
-Shazam (identifies music playing nearby)
-SnapPhotoPro (basic editing, cropping, filters for cameraphone images)
-StopTimer (simple stopwatch or countdown)
-Translate (easy to use translation, many diff. languages)
-Toggle Settings (quick access to changing GPS, bluetooth, brightness, sound, and syncing settings)

->> Key Ring application - use the BarCode Scanner to scan the loyalty cards from Staples, Costco, CVS, etc.
Key Ring displays them on the Droid and the clerk scans at checkout. A lot of strange looks from sales clerks at first, but more & more are used to it lately. |

Called My Tracks- keep track of where you have been.
Although is this like Latitude? |

->> Hey Bruce,
Latitude is a different beast. Latitude is great if you have several people with smart phones and you want to be able to keep track of one another. It doesn't do nearly as much tracking/logging...

->> Quick hijack.....
Looking for options for transmitting with a Droid since Mac OS 10.4 isn't supported by PDAnet. I played with ANDftp last week. Kind of like the idea of saving images to the SD card with phone treated as mas storage device and transmitting with ANDftp. Bluetooth DUN with PDAnet on the Droid might still be an option. Has anyone tried that? |

->> Hey Grant. I have used the ANDftp program/system a few times now for transmitting and so far it has worked great. Speeds are fantastic (compared to my old system - bluetooth DUN on an non smart phone). It's a little bit of a pain because you need to mount the phone to the laptop and drop the photos on there, but I kind of like having some of my recent work pics on there if I have something I want to share with friends.
Also I am pretty sure that bluetooth limits your transfer speeds quite a bit. |

| ->> I connect my G1 via usb and copy my files to a folder and then use AndFTP for transmit. It's very very simple to use and the speed is very good that way. |

Link for Android takes you to the Android Market.
Works fairly well if you have a 3G connection. |

If you lose your phone you can see where it is at through your computer web browser, can lock the phone down, delete all personal info.
Just installed it so I can't verify how great it is, but looks to be a great app. |
