->> Want to jump start your career?
Create some new income paths in this economy?
How about learn video storytelling, Final Cut Pro, and the Canon 7D at the same time?
Plus advanced techniques with portable cranes, dollies, motorized heads, timelapse, multi-cam set-up and slo-mo to make your project stand out in the crowd.

Just a reminder for the new year and the new you - the April 2-11 Platypus Workshop in Las Vegas at Flamingo Hotel, still has some Shoot n Edit slots left. We also have Producer and Student slots open. This is the workshop to attend and we timed it right before the NAB Show April 12-15 in Vegas. Our discounted hotel rates are good through the NAB Show too.

Remember - reinvention is good thing.

About 40 years ago I started out shooting surfing and rock n roll at Sunbums Hawaii, that evolved to protests and environmental portraits for the SF Bay Guardian, that evolved to political photojournalism for TIME based in NY and SF, then came producing shows for ABC-TV Nightline, then Travel Channel, the some teaching, then editing, then Reason.TV with Drew Carey, doing online profiles of book authors for publishing houses, and now corporate accounts, who actually pay real money for video film work - it amazing.

I’m now gearing up for the next revolution and video market coming in 2010 with the iSlate or iPad or whatever tablet is coming from Apple and others that will transform the paper publishing format into a multimedia experience. Guess what - they all will need content.

I’m 57 and I’ve yet to stop learning and re-inventing myself to survive in a changing industry. For all you folks making $75-200K or more on still photography these days - I tip my hat to you! For everyone else, it’s time to learn something new and in 9 days we teach you so much, your brains will hurt. You’ll think about the industry and all it’s possibilities in a new way.

Thanks for your time and see ya in Vegas, baby!

PF
