D700 Question

->> I see Nikon has released a D3s and a D300s has there been any word of a D700s being released soon? I am looking to get a D700 but I don't want to put my order in and have the D700s come out a few weeks later. Like when I bought my Apple MacBook Pro. LOL

->> rumors about an intro at PMA in Feb/March...still would lead to a street date of June (ish). The d700 is fantastic, and with the d3s out...they arent hard to find used...i just sold both of mine actually...and considering yoiu can buy them new for 2300,....and the new version is gonna be right back up to 3299 in all liklihood.....its a great buy now.

If you can swing it...the D3s is amazing as well. Having had both. I think the D3 and D3s both ramp up the af capabilities slightly too. I've not had near as many almost in focus shots.....the keeper rate is higher...even tho af module is the same, there are dual processors...i think it makes a difference.

->> As a D700 user I can confirm Brads comments, the 700 is a superb camera, but the D3/D3s do ramp up the af capabilities, the D700 slightly slides into focus while the D3 'snaps' in for me at least.

The D3s is now my workhorse but I've retained one of the D700's as a very capable back up body.
