->> First off,it's ya'll not you all. what the hell? and "gifts" you buy yourself aren't gifts. they are purchases. sorry, don't wanna be the grinch but that is the truth. And yes, I got some VERY nice gifts...but the best gift I received was the gift of friendship from my many friends LEFT in the biz. Sorry if it may seem cliche, but the folks left "in the fight"
mean the world to me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to "ya'll". |

Yeah, I was thinking about the real gifts out there and I'm stoked I have a job in the newspaper business. I couldn't ask for anything more. |

->> The truth is I don't know - sorta. My daughter flew from Istanbul to Minneapolis and basically had been up 30 hours. When we sat down to open some gifts after dinner she fell asleep. So we postponed it til tomorrow. I got to see her for the first time since May, when she got married. My son in law flew in today so I got to see him. The only one not totally delighted with the decision was my 14 year old, but after he got to open one more gift - a iPod - he was fine.
My wife and I got each other :) I don't really care if I get anything. I already have a great family, my health .. what else do I REALLY need? I hope all the SS.com community was as blessed as I was. |

->> A badly needed new GPS and a new PS3 since my old one died a couple of years ago and I have complained about it ever since... I also found out that my 40D might be DOA so insurance might cut me a check which would be nice considering the 7D looks like alot of fun. (I have staff gear thats Nikon)
Santa also apparently knocked something flammable over at my friends studio and he lost everything. I was bad helping him dig out. computers, harddrives, lights, lenses, bodies all ruined... he had let his insurance lapse because times were tough... but he is in good sprits. He did not lose any images and he had enough gear off site that he can keep shooting and get back on his feet. |
