| ->> can anyone explain why images from my G10 shot in RAW won't open in CS3, but my husband's RAW files from his Mark 2N open fine (both say CR2, but the files from the G10 won't open) |

->> Debra,
Canon G10 RAW support is in the Adobe RAW 5.2 update. However, that update doesn't work for CS3...only CS4. Looks like you now have a reason to move up to CS4, huh?
I shoot my G9 in RAW and love it.
Here's the link for the update: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4219 |

->> The only way around is to use Canon's own RAW conversion, then import as a tiff or whatever into PS3.

| ->> You can also convert the G10 RAW files to DNG format using the Adobe DNG converter and open the DNGs up in Photoshop. Choose the "embed original RAW" option when you do the conversion and you'll be able to get your original file back if you need it. |

->> As Adobe don't plug it as a product on their site, I guess as they really want to sell the latest version of CS and Lightroom, here is a link to the DNG Converter page :

| ->> I find it absolutely pathetic that Adobe will update their free DNG converterter to accommodate new RAW files but won't update the RAW plugin in Photoshop, requiring users to purchase an entirely new version of Photoshop simply to open RAW files from their new cameras. |
