->> I donated my services two weeks ago to a local HIV/AIDS Charity. I shot family portraits of the charity's clients during the groups holiday party and then had 5x7 prints made for them. Many of these families have no nice pictures and for some it could be the last time they have a chance to get them done. In all it took about 6 hours of my time and about $15 out of my pocket and it made me feel real good.

So find something to do that makes the world a better place and do it.

->> I participated in HP in San Diego. Adoramapix generously donated 14 8x10 prints to photographers. It cost me less than 6.00 and the cost of gas to be a part of a movement. I got more out of this session than the families and they were so excited to get portraits taken. I even recruited a makeup artist who still showed up even after the other two bailed and did no shows. She got to keep the cosmetics that I got one of the local MAC stores to donate.

->> I shoot and donate prints to several cancer causes. One is Camp Rainbow gold which sends kids with cancer to camp. My music prints raise a lot more money then I can sell them for. I also do free work for the Danny Thompson memorial golf tournament for the old Minn Twin who died of cancer.

->> I donate my used equipment and services to the Briarwood School here in Houston. World renowned for their work with kids with learning difficulties and developmental disorders. I work with the yearbook kids and have even gotten the Houston Aeros hockey team to let the kids come in to do fan photos for them. Great in teaching them social skills and how to work in less than perfect lighting.
Since they are privately funded, there is little to no money for cameras or other equipment, so I give them everything I can, but I get so much more back in return.

We aren't going to live forever you know.
