| ->> I am making the switch from PC to Mac. I was about to order Quickbooks for Mac and I found a lot of negative reports. I am used to qbooks and it has served me nicely on my PC and would like to not have to learn a new program. Any Mac users got any positive or negative experiences ?.......God Spede.......jim |

->> I actually got Parallels so I could use QB for PC on my iMac.
My accountant wasn't entirely sure if the Mac QB accountant's review file was completely compatible with their PC version, so I opted for the safe route.
I have used QB since 1999 on the PC and it is a great program. No need to switch. |

->> If you like what you have now, just go the route that Preston suggested...remember...with a Mac you have the option to run multiple operating systems and thus you don't have to pick one over the other. Run the EXACT piece of software that works for you.
Parallels Desktop has a demo of Version 5 here:

->> Jim,
Just picked up QB '10, and will be working with my accountant this week for some end of year tax planning, give me a buzz next week and I'll give you a review.

| ->> I'd be very interested to hear if an accountant's copy (or full backup for that matter) generated on Mac is fully functional on a PC. |

->> Michael,
I'll write up a full report this coming weekend as my accountant and I are sitting down on Sunday to go over everything.
More as I know it. Shaun |

->> Awesome, thanks.
I use both Mac and PC, and have been mulling getting QB for the Mac (am able to run the PC version using VM Ware). I've been doing all my bookkeeping on a PC...and that's what my accountant uses. |

| ->> I am in the process of adding QB for Mac and everything I can see so far is that it will work just fine. Not only can you export a QB for accountant copy, you can export a QB for Windows file. I exported my QB for windows into a Mac readable copy and had no problem installing it into the Mac version. I have been running Parallels with XP, but at least my set up, Windows QB is dang slow and the Mac version flies. This version of QB for the Mac looks much better than previous versions. |

| ->> I've been using it for the past year and it has been great and I've not experienced any problems with it at all. They have a link to down load a trial....might be worth while to give it a go. |

| ->> Thanks for all the help. I loaded my quickbooks (07) on to my Mac using parallels and all seems to be working fine. Even though I hate doing anything now using Windoze, but you do what works and it kept me from shelling out another 100 dollar bill for software.....God Spede...jim |

| ->> In the past I have compared QB for windows and the Mac versions and the MAC version isn't as versatile and not as developped as the pc version. So i stayed with (1) a cheap pc version and (2) installed as suggested above Parallels with Windows XP. Works like a charm. I don't ever think that Intuit will ever produce Quicken and Quickbooks where the features are identical in their annual releases and on top of all of that, the files are not compatible between the two OS. |

->> I use it as well. You can also create a complete backup for Windows. The folks at Quickbooks HAVE to know that most of their clients work in windows, so there needs to be a clear way to go from one to the other.
I've been on it for about two years and havent really missed anything...BUT the timer for jobs. I do miss that. |
