->> Apparently he fell from the back of a pick-up.

->> This really is sad news. I know when the Browns play the Bengals in Cleveland he was always one of our favorite people to heckle. But this is just terrible news, prayers to the whole Bengals family.

->> It's really hard to know how to react to the news, rotating between sadness and anger. On one hand he branded himself as the team problem child - being suspended five times in five seasons and spearheading the stereotype that the Bengals were a team of criminals - but on the other hand the guy was an exceptional inside receiver.

After wearing on everyone's nerves after yet another arrest, he'd come back and pull off some incredible plays and we'd all forgive him for another day. Much the same as Giants fans still cheered for Barry Bonds even though national sentiment was mainly negative against him... Fans will always rally around their own.

I photographed Chris a few years ago for Sports Illustrated after he took his entire family in to his home after Katrina. Twenty-eight people I think were at some point living in his brand new home. He bore the brunt of the financial burden for everyone living there and the articles did mention that, but couldn't really show it. For example, three months after Katrina when the shoot occurred, he still did not have ANY furniture in the house because he couldn't afford it yet. A bedroom set was being delivered as we were setting up but the entire first floor of the home was barren with the exception of a card table and two folding chairs in the kitchen. Every other penny went to his family to get them back on their feet. That's when my opinion of him really softened permanently. Someone that young who can sacrifice that much had to be a good guy somewhere deep inside.

As restless as he was in life, I hope he's finding solace now.

->> I covered the funeral today and updated my page with some of the images from today, very somber event, I've photographed Henry several times while playing the Saints. He was the only player from my area that I know of that ever made it to the NFL. very sad to see his life ended at such a young age.
