Interview with Ed Kashi
Andrew Kornylak, Photographer
Atlanta | GA | USA | Posted: 8:02 PM on 12.16.09
->> Last week I gave a talk at the Atlanta Photojournalism Seminar about "stillmotion" and mixed media production for photographers. I figured I would do some homework first

National Geographic Photographer Ed Kashi's piece "Iraqi Kurdistan" from 2006 was what inspired me to start "messing around" so I interviewed Ed for my blog. He was kind enough to take some time out he was leaving for another trip to Pakistan.

He is still a great inspiration, even if you are "just" a sports shooter I hope you find it interesting.

->> Thanks for sharing with us Andrew. Just spent an hour or so looking at Ed Kashi's work and yours...... really really good !
Reckon I'll have a go at the flip book thing.
Thanks again Pete

->> David McLain was another inspiration and the one who I stole the term "Stillmotion" from. He is also a National Geographic Photographer and fellow Aurora Photos colleague. I interviewed him as a follow-up to Kashi's interview. We talked about multimedia and about his multimedia production company Merge.

He is another great example of an already well-established photographer taking risks in a bigger arena. When you understand his approach, it doesn't seem so daunting.

I finally got around to putting it up on the blog:
