->> I posted a thread a few months ago about how cool it would be to have a Sportsshooter iphone app, well we now have Accelshoot and from what I hear it's not associated with sportsshooter. I downloaded the app and it's like having the website right own your phone without going to the website. Great Job Stan Hu!!!

->> Not to play Debbie Downer here (more like Devil's advocate), but how is this legal?
I'm assuming SportsShooter is not officially involved since the app doesn't bear their name. And it's a money-generating app ($2.99) that doesn't appear to be officially associated with SportsShooter.com. Plus, I don't remeber agreeing to the use of my photos in any sort of external showcase when I signed up for SportsShooter.
I mean, can anyone create an app that showcases a third party's content and make money on it? If so, I need to start programming a Playboy app.
I'm just saying... |

| ->> You're right. I have taken the app offline until I hear more from the admins here. Those discussions are still ongoing. Will update you if anything changes. |

->> Sorry, Stan. I'm not trying to cause trouble. :( I was more curious than anything else, hence playing "devil's advocate". FWIW, I think it's a great concept. I wish every site I visited had an easy to navigate Interface when viewed on my iPhone.
Full disclosure... this is being sent from my iPhone (via Safari), so please excuse any fat-finger typos. |

Yes. It's the nature of the internet. It's no different from how Safari, Firefox, and IE pull data from a website and interpret it into a human-readable form. That's *not* to say you couldn't make enemies by doing it in certain contexts, but I can't see the site admins having a problem with it (as long as it's what I'm picturing - just a way to access a simplified version of SS through the iPhone)
How the data is used and/or stored may be a different issue (ie, saving copyrighted content is considered OK for caching, not OK for other uses, removal of copyright is illegal, etc)...
It really wouldn't be too difficult to just use CSS and a browser hack to do it - it would save most of the time in coding. |

| ->> Another thought - why *don't* we have SS set up to look good on small screens already? It's really not that hard to do... |
