Not sure we really need the SS messages boards to serve as the source for "breaking" news because I really don't think anyone wouldn't of caught wind of this already. |

i was hoping to get some thoughts from the working pro's that cover the PGA.
if you are tired of the Tiger threads, then STOP reading them. YES it is that simple. |

I am a huge fan of TW....I will not be watching any golf while he's gone. I play golf, use Hogan Blades with a NIKE bag, NIKE driver, a Tiger head cover, and two pair Black and White TW shoes at 200.00 a pop.
so NO i'm not here to take shots at the guy. |

->> Props Anantachai for bringing it up, just ignore the others with the quick keyboard trigger-finger syndrome, jumping all on you about it.
If you work for newspapers and magazines what he posted is news (yeah I'm tired of 24-hour Tiger but so far this has more to do with US as photographers than any other Tiger cheating news at this point)
It does affect us and it's worth bringing up and discussing, besides you did pay your $25 annual dues right? So your entitled to bring up whatever you want.
How many papers and magazines will shrink some of their coverage of golf events with photographers local or national wire service pictures? Many I'd assume. What's that mean for us as photographers?
How about more ad space to sell to keep our papers afloat. You do want to keep your job right? Or maybe some more space for our sports pictures in what is an ever shrinking space for our pictures in sports and other sections of our print products. |

->> Damn David, how do you figure him taking pot shots at Tiger from his post??
Oh I get it, you went on that Makers Mark tour a few times today :-)
I remember that fondly when I worked at the CJ back in the day.
Seriously stop with the subtle keyboard bully tactics and think about what it just might mean. It's going to affect those that cover golf full time, affect space in papers that cover tournaments where Tiger would be at this coming golf season and perhaps another loss of a source of income for some photographers (with these economic times that sucks in my book!) |

I'm pretty sick of the whole tabloid side of this story but, this guy has made millions on an image that was a complete sham. To think this isn't a story is crazy. |

if one is so weak that they can't turn temptations away, they they should not take MARRIAGE VOWS. This wasn't "one mistake" with one woman-it was many.
He is a fraud and of course he wants to stay married-he wants those endorsements to keep coming his way.
Danny-you are right-he has no character. Any man or woman who behaves like this has no character |

->> Danny,
To be honest he made millions because he kicked ass in golf and dominated the sport for many many years.
I can't think of one endorsement that focused around his wife and family? Now I could be wrong, but Gatorade didn't have a commercial with him and his wife having fun, it was usually him and something about golf.
This is his personal life and I still feel it is none of our business. What he does behind closed doors is his own deal, all I ever cared about was what he did on the course. |

->> Thanks for that link, but one thing I don't get is quotes like this:
""I get texts from family members whose kids idolize Tiger, and they don't want to tell them because they don't want to pollute their minds with what's happened." - Greg Norman.
Am I correct in assuming that Norman is saying to not tell kids who idolize Woods what happened? If that's the case, that's BS.
I lost a lot of respect for Woods and it does tarnish his idol image very seriously I think.
I don't know, maybe I'm making a bigger deal of that quote than I should.
Fact of the matter is that Tiger leaving the game is a big deal and will affect golf. The US Open is at Pebble this year and I was really hoping to shoot Tiger. Maybe he'll be back by then... |

->> If you think Tiger's not playing in the majors.....I dont think that would be a wise wager (i'm sure there are odds on it in Vegas). One thing we do know about Tiger...he works his ass off, and is totally committed to winning majors......
And to all those who are appalled....do you honestly think if you had millions....were constantly away from home...and constantly had supermodel level women BEGGING for you to sweep them off their feet that you could resist temptation over and over and over??? Really???
Lets see just how honest we all are with ourselves. Guys just aren't wired up that way.....A woman imo would have a much easier time resisting that sort of thing, esp a very attractive one, as they have been "chased" their entire lives and very accustomed to come ons...and the resulting turning them away.....whereas men spend their entire lives as the chaser.....
not saying its right...i'm saying its the way it is...you cant just turn off thousands of years of evolution....
none of us will ever have the chance/burden of having that many women..that attractive...that often thrown at us...to even think we could withstand any more than he did....
again...i'm not saying its right. I'm saying that its highly unlikey any(heterosexual) man put in that high level a situation could have said "sorry i'm married" that often to that many women that were that hot....sooner or later, you're gonna get the right invite at the wrong time...after one too many drinks maybe and....well there you go. |

->> Brad,
ANYONE, man or woman, who can't resist temptation should then resist the temptation of getting married. If some hot babe or hot stud is going to temp you to getting naked and rolling around in bed, on the floor, on the kitchen counter, where ever-DON'T GET MARRIED.
It's that easy
And I am so, so tired of men saying men are wired that way, men need sex more than woman, blah blah blah. That is such crap. For every man that wants/needs sex everyday, there are just as many women who feel the same way. It has nothing to do with "evolution" or how you are "wired."
If you WANT/NEED multiple partners, don't get married.
Period! |

"kitchen counter".....I see you've thought about your reply quite a bit.

so Debra, you are saying...that if you were married, worth millions, and for whatever reason the marriage has issues. You would ABSOLUTELY so NO to guys every time? (your type of guy)

->> Anantachai-first of all, you are assuming that their marriage had issues. That's the first anyone has heard about that. Seems to me Elin was pretty shocked, and majorly pissed off-as the news said "she loved him and was so hurt and angry-that's why she ran after him with a golf club." If they were both swingers, I don't think she would care at all. If someone enters an open relationship, it's whatever goes, goes.
And no, I didn't think about my reply at all.
And that link to those"male models..."--eww
And I had that "7 year itch" briefly and there are plenty of men out there, but I never strayed. As Bruce Springsteen sings "you can look but you better not touch."
Sorry-if you are tempted or weak, get out of your marriage and go swing and do whatever you want.
And Danny, you are right-none of those women were anything even close to what Elin looks like. Is there anything real on them? |

->> somehow i knew a woman would be the first resonse to that post...
note I didnt say you should...all i'm saying is that we cant possibly conceive of the offers he gets routinely.
How many do you suppose he did turn down?? Is it any of our business? He has broken no laws...taken no performance enhancing drugs...bet on no tournaments.....
As for women being different than men....well thats been proven about every way imaginable...not the least of which was the variance on this question that was posed...I believe by Kinsey back in the 60's when they did the sex poll..totally and completely confidential.
The Q. If it was 100% certain you would not get caught, and you could have sex with the woman/man of your dreams (not your spouse would you do it. The yes answers were more than 2 to 1 male. You can deny it all you want, but those that have the strength to be honest with themselves can look at what the circumstances surrounding Tigers life on the road....and realize that very few of us could walk that line without crossing it either. Sure its politically correct to say "I would never"....but statistics clearly say...."well i might"....and even more so..."well i did" |

Bull, There are millions of men who never cheat. Even when opportunity has knocked.
"A woman imo would have a much easier time resisting that sort of thing, esp a very attractive one, as they have been "chased" their entire lives and very accustomed to come ons."
So why didn't Tiger get used to the constant offers.
Nic, I would think Norman would hunt a hole when the subject is infidelity instead of throwing out a quote. |

With a world wide population of 6 Billion plus, and given that males make up approx. 50 percent of that number, you haven't presented a very reassuring statistic. |
