Overused Words, 2009

->> I revisited this 2008 thread http://www.sportsshooter.com/message_display.html?tid=30571 because I needed a laugh (it's way past my bedtime), and thought it would be fun to list the most overused words for 2009.
My contribution would be....
Douche
as in
"Don't be a douche!"
and
"What a douche bag!"
This word was awful in the 80's and it's awful today (even though the way it's used is funny).
My other contribution is Butt-Hurt - as in "Don't get all butt-hurt about this!"
Okay boys and girls, let's hear the overused words for 2009.

My personal pet overused word - Awesome.
Recently overheard in a media room
question : "Hey, how was that donut ?"
answer : "It was awesome, man."
From Webster's on line dictionary :
awe (รด)
noun
1.a mixed feeling of reverence, fear, and wonder, caused by something majestic, sublime, sacred, etc.
2.[archaic]The power of inspiring intense fear or fearful reverence
Wow. Some donut. |
