->> My Epson r200 is getting a little long in the tooth. It still makes nice prints, but the ink is getting harder to find and the paper always sticks in the feeder. I use this printer to for general printing, letters, contact sheets, quick proofs and printing on DVDs/CDs. I have a Epson Photo 2200 for bigger/longer lasting prints.
What is a good current generation printer? This last one cost around 100 bucks and I am looking in that same budget area. I have always been an Epson man, but I am open minded.
Thanks

->> I just bought a 1400 at B&H for 184.00
It prints better than I could get from my 2200. I also had a r200 that was great. Now I have everything in one printer.

| ->> I am heading down the same path so I am interested in others' opinions as well. I will say though, I am keenly interested in the new printers with WIFI capability. Anybody use that feature? |

->> I am looking at the Epson Artisan 810 Color Inkjet All-In-One Printer. Cost around 200 bucks, more than I was looking to spend, but it can make copies, fax, and scan, plus the rest of the stuff. Anyone have one?
Thanks

->> I just installed, 30 minutes ago, an Epson nx300 that I bought for $36.00 from the Epson store. Free shipping, too.
It was literally cheaper to purchase another printer than buy the ink for the printer I replaced.
There are other deals in the store. |

->> Paul, we just picked up the Artisan 810 last week. The only thing we've done with it so far is print a few CDs (the main reason we bought it) and they look great. The scanner/copier is just a bonus but we haven't tested out the quality of it yet.
We've got an HP LaserJet for general printing and documents so I can't speak to how well text looks from the Epson. |

->> have you looked at Costco for ink? I just got mine there and there doesn't seem to be a cut off anytime soon. Just wondering.
I would wait if the it stills performs well. More printers will be coming out soon with bluetooth wireless or built in network, and that is worth waiting for for me. |

| ->> Yeah I usually buy my ink at Costco. It costs around 65 bucks to buy the package that has all the colors in it, not too bad. I just hate buying the package since I use certain colors, like black, more. I may go that route. The thing that got me thinking new printer was the paper has to be babied in the feeder to get it to go through without jamming. Maybe it is the paper, it is kind of thick. |

| ->> I always use a piece of cardboard at the back, or the kind that comes with the paper. That tends to keep me from having to baby it. |
