Tiger Part Two

| ->> Well there is a report on espn that Tiger's wife told an officer he had done alcohol , done an ambien and vicodin. The hospital would not release the blood tests to the cops. He drove bare foot which is illegal in Florida, maybe he does not have to talk to cops but if he were you or me he would gone to jail that night. Any body getting into car and drving the way he did is dangerous to innocent people next time he might make out into the streets. There will always be two sets of justice in the world |

->> I never understood why people relish when a person falls. I sure hope we have other concerns higher than Tiger's personal life.

->> Agreed.
As photographers, we are around these people all the time. We of all people should understand that they are just normal people like us who make mistakes. They just have a different, slightly better paying job than us who happen to be on tv all the time. Of course the media outlets are going to run their stories of speculation but we should not be adding fuel to the fire. Let's drop it. Please. |

->> Mike, it's against the law to drive barefoot in OH. I would guess the source would be the state law.
I do it frequently in the summer, but I chafe under authority. |

->> I could care less about this. I hesitate to post to this thread, but Bob Schiefer at CBS News told this story on his show Sunday morning.
He said he got to meet Hank Aaron for the first time last week. His said Mr. Aaron talked to everyone that wanted his time, signed autographs, the whole bit.
Bob said the only other person he said he ever saw handle crowds as well was Arnold Palmer. Palmer, he said, had lunch with Tiger soon after Tiger's first Masters win. Palmer asked Woods how it was going and Tiger complained that it was tough- no one would treat him like a normal 21 year old - the press was always on him.
Palmer replied to Tiger "How many 21 year olds have $50Million in the bank?"
It's apparent that Tiger has some serious issues here. Sex addiction may be one of them. You give up your privacy when you take the money - it's that simple. Tiger never could deal with that - and thus we have all the gossip media all over this.
To Rafael and Jared's point, I see nothing to persue on SS.com. It's a news story, yes, but nothing that needs our attention on here. The next story will be when the corporate sponsors start dropping by the wayside. It still won't be a story here.

| ->> I called out the Florida barefoot thing because it didn't pass the common sense test, even for lawmakers. I didn't look up the current FL statute, but a quick bit of googling showed it was perfectly legal in FL and most states in the past, probably still is. |

Latest reports are that alcohol and prescription drugs (Ambien and Vicodin) may have been a factor in the crash. |

->> Schadenfreude...is the answer to why everyone wants to talk about this. When you shut out the media and have the appearance of being perfect...Schadenfreude!
As for the alcohol, ambien and vicodin, and his "doing it," what planet are you from? You drink alcohol. And he was prescribed the ambien and vicodin. And, truthfully, he was getting while the getting was gone and fleeing from a golf club toting wife, period.
There are tons of SNL skits that could be written on what most likely happened. |

| ->> Scott I take ambien and it says on the bottle do not mix with alcohol. That he would do this mixture and get behind a wheel of a car is scary to me. I could care less about the woman other then feeling sorry for his wife. Next time he could kill somebody. But he get away with this behaviour because of his fame. |

->> Or Maybe because of his fame, people make up reports to sell stories. "It was released the day after that alcohol was NOT a factor. . ."
But you want to believe it did. |

->> As much as some folks want this story to go away, it continues to have a life of its own. I had to interview people on what they think of the TW story for one of the local papers I work with.
This morning USA Today's Christine Brennan has a, I think, very insightful analysis of the situation.
As a photographer does the TW story affect me? Probably not much. But as a consumer, and one whose buying decision could be influenced by celebrity endorsements, I personally feel let down by the events. I believe in marriage and all that it implies.
So as much as anyone thinks that this a purely a private affair between husband and wife, it isn't.
This is my opinion and I am solely responsible for its content. Your opinion my differ and you are welcome to it. |

Eric: The operative words are 'could be influenced.'

I play a lot of golf and am continually amazed by the guys who read one of Tiger's tutorials and thinks they can do it like him. Whatever he does on the course, it definitely does not translate to my 'snake killing' swing. |

I became a Canon man because of Andre Agassi and his beautiful fake hair. |
