->> Not sure how many of you watched the game of the Oregon State Beavers vs. the Oregon Ducks on TV last night and not sure how many of you do this, but when there is a "big" game on TV and something big happens (big hit, flip into end zone, play at the plate, NASCAR crash, etc etc) I LOVE to go onto the respected cities newspapers site or check out Getty and AP images a few hours later to see if anybody got, the moment in question, captured in a photograph. All I wanted to see afterwards of OS vs OU was a photo OU's mascot (duck) crowd surfing right after the game.... great scene and great shot by Ross William Hamilton. Once again, The Oregonian had all the bases covered.

This is my favorite frame!

just my trivial take....

->> The Duck saved the day.

A lot of us went high to try and avoid the rush of 50,000 people hitting the field at once. I figured it'd be easier to spot players from higher up. WRONG. I was standing along a wall, with Davies to my right and Robert Beck to my left and we all got hammered. Had to hang on and push back from the wall to not get crushed. Then as I'm trying to not get smashed by drunk college kids, I look up and see the duck crowd surfing and try to compose some kind of frame with my 400 I couldn't really even see through the viewfinder I was getting tossed around so much, and I'm a big dude.

Long story short, the Duck was a great photo and I agree, Ross' is awesome.

Chris Pietsch was in the malay and had a pocket wizard get busted:

My version of the Duck is on my member page. The Civil War is the most fun event to cover and last nights game was one of the best.

->> Brian made a great picture of the Duck, from his nice safe spot high above the fray. I'm not the least bit bitter, even if I did almost get killed a couple times. But, I did get the last laugh, the pocket wizard belongs to Davies, I borrowed it just before the game. If anybody finds the pieces, call me ;-)
