->> Good afternoon everyone. I just came across this story in Advertising Age that also contains a video of the future at Time Inc. and many other magazines:

http://adage.com/mediaworks/article?article_id=140817

This is well worth looking at.

->> Thanks Brad.

I can't wait for this to hit the market. While I don't think this is going to save newspapers, I think the suits sure do have something that they sink their teeth...and non-existant capital into.

->> Interesting, from the narration by Terry McDonnell, Managing Editor of SI:

"find something (photographs) to send out to your facebook friends...or your own archives...easy enough".

Wonder if users are going to be able to build their own digital archives of SI photos.

->> This is pretty cool. What is great here for photographers is how images are being used and features - its an integral part of the whole user experience, unlike some parts of the web where images were thought of as secondary - small, 600pix, this puts the images in your face and in your hands - really hope to see one of these in person soon.

->> One thing that I find interesting and that has crossed my mind before is the requirements we actually need for what we shoot. As we are concerned with 18mpx and 21mpx and 24 mpx we are probably seeing that for many appications, online magazines, we could perhaps just as well be shooting at 4 mpx.

http://gizmodo.com/5417304/times-manhattan-project-will-explode-like-the-at...

They're absolutely right: Pasting a new medium into an old wrapper is just stupid.

->> Great step in the right direction....I hope that someone eventually comes out with a 2 page spread version of a tablet or reader, so advertisers will have facing pages for ads. This could be cool.

->> ... "video killed the single frame photographer star"

Now, all who have the latest video DSLR experience, can put their application in at "ESPN The Tablet". Or,...yes your wedding pics/video will be in "Tablet Format".

I think it would of been cool 10 years ago...but now it seems long over due. What would be cool is a 3D hologram Tablet.
