OT (sort of)- How I Spent My Thanksgiving Vacation
Phil Hawkins, Photographer

->> Besides eating four Txgiving dinners in 3 days, and playing Monopoly and getting my butt kicked by two 10-year-olds, Friday was the first day in about ten years that I did not do at least one thing related to photography. No internet, didn't touch my camera case, no phone calls, nothing. I even passed on a great sunset setup in Yosemite in order to stay with the family and hang out. How weird it felt!! But good too! Now, I'm itching to get out and shoot!

How many of you can say the same? It was invigorating. Give it a try!

->> Phil,

I know what you mean. I did not totaly stay away from the photo work, have far too many orders to process and was looking forward to a college hockey game Friday night. However, I did not cover a hockey tournament that I had done for 6 years. This left Friday/Saturday/Sunday open. Went to the Bruins game, worked in the yard spent some much needed time with my better half. It was time needed and welcomed.

About 1/10 of what I usually do.

Well worth the trade off of not doing the tourney!!

Jim

->> Sheesh... you guys are lucky! I covered the US Field Hockey Festival in Indio CA and we wound up shooting just over 25,000 photos. By 3:00 P.M. Saturday (last day of shooting) my hand was completely cramped up and I almost couldn't fire the shutter.
