->> Has anybody replaced a SB-800 flash foot? I searched the threads and all I found was a discussion about older models. My flash got hit directly with a stray pass and it bent the metal foot so I need to replace it. Any advice appreciated!

->> Send it to a professional, like Mid-State Camera Repair in Rhode Island. They have replaced the shoe on my Canon flash twice for around $30. Or your local repair shop, if you trust them.

Looks to be about as easy as replacing the lower assembly on a Canon 580ex. Pull a couple screws, one electrical connector, screw it back together. |

->> I have been told that you actually have to take the back of the flash off and it is not a quick and easy fix. I guess I'll send it in, in the meantime I am using it with my D-200 in commander mode and the TTL function is fine. Thanks to everyone for the quick advice!!

->> Mid State Camera repair is the best. I sent a few lenses in with credit card info. They shipped lenses back repaired with an invoice. I sent a check. Such great people.
