flickr member selling my images?

->> Someone pointed a couple page links to me showcasing a large number of my images and I assume a number of fellow shooters as well. I recognize a couple of Rod's I believe. This page doesn’t edit out my copyright;

This page appears to offer a purchase option and “hedwy” has taken a little more effort and cropped out my copyright notice.

In the meantime, I would be tempted to post a comment on each of your pictures that have been infringed upon with language pointing out that these are your images and the unauthorized use and sale of them is subject to serious financial consequences.
In a perfect world one would hope it might sink in that this kind of activity is unacceptable not only to them but to the people that view their site.
I randomly copied a couple of images to my desktop and all the IPTC data is there. One was Rod Mar's and the other was Ross Hamilton's.
Keep us updated and continue to spread the word in the great Pacific Northwest. |

| ->> I have seen my images that I shot while on assignment for Reuters posted on someones flickr site. The same person also had AP images from other photogs posted on their site. We were in the same press pool shooting the same event. I reported this flickr and they contacted the offending person. I am not sure what was done, but I did see them taken down shortly after, only to re-appear again. Troubling times we are in. |

Finally, see your local attorney about sending the takedown notice to Flickr and a demand letter to the person selling the images (the attorney may have to include something in the takedown notice to Flickr in order to obtain the identity of the person selling the images). |

| ->> Selling photo's is hard enough without someone stealing them and selling them as his own. I have a friend that received $25,000 per photo from someone doing this to him. $75K and court costs later the fellow realized the error of his ways. |
