->> Just picked up an Airport Security V2 from Midwest Photo in Columbus today, and the included ThinkTank catalog showed a Hydrophobia 70-200, but it's not on the web site. Does anyone know when they will go on sale? It seems odd to advertise a product that isn't available or even announced yet.

->> I would suspect a substantial lead time for printing the catalog...???... I imagine it's difficult to get the timing down just right.

->> With the weather the way it is over here at the minute I would certainly be interested in one of those.

->> I went back and looked at it again. There are actually two models coming out, one with a port for a flash and one without. Also of interest is how they specify "for lenses up to 70-200 f/2.8," and that it includes a built-in camera strap.
Here's a picture of the actual catalog:

If TTP is reading this, I'll take two the day the go on sale! |

->> I spoke with Doug from TTP a few weeks ago at PhotoPlus, and he says they're very close to releasing it. The biggest issue in the product development had to do with a system that let the Hydrophobia be attached to the camera when stored, for easy deployment. Since there's no large barrel, it can't mount like the 300-600, so a new system had to be devised. It's taken a lot of time and effort to design, but Doug says they've finally gotten it down. I'll be ordering one for sure when they come out. I have yet to see something come out of TTP that is not incredibly well designed and built.
