The brochure says "Improved AF", really improved from the D3 or just marketing blurb. In other words is it really worth the extra $?

->> I tried one out last Tuesday at the NPS "open" day in Edinburgh and the AF felt a little more responsive than on my D3.

It seemed to lock on faster and track a little easier but that could have been as much to do with the Mk 2 70-200 VR that was mounted on the camera.

The AF-ON button is *certainly* more responsive and apparently easier to use if you're wearing gloves out in the cold.

The short version is try one for yourself to see: it won't be long before they start showing up in stores.
