->> Brian,
Geez that looked pretty darn good. How slow or fast on the shutter do you want to go when using video?
Does it really matter? |

| ->> I think I read somewhere 1/30 is the slowest shutterspeed you can use in video mode, which would make sense when shooting video at 30fps. But again I'm new to video so I'm no expert by any means. |

| ->> So if you were to shoot at 60fps you would want to use 1/60th I would assume? |

| ->> Pertaining to video (not the 7D, since I haven't shot with that)... At 60fps, 1/60 would be the slowest available shutter speed. You can shoot with a faster shutter speed - 1/60 isn't necessarily the ideal shutter speed. It depends on light levels, aperture, and in this case ISO. |

| ->> I'm in a learning curve on shooting video . . . what I heard suggested was (when shooting in daylight) to shoot at a shutter speed twice the camera's frame rate; i.e. shooting with a camera at 30p you would set the shutter speed to 1/60. |

->> A little off subject suggestions for some good west coast stores from where to buy my 7D
I'm ready to buy the 7D and trying to decide where...Last week I walked into the closest pro store in Oregon where I have bought 90% of my Canon gear over the years and the customer service sucked
I don't know the people as I often just have them mail it to me so that I don't have to make the 100 mile drive from Eugene. Although I had $3,000 Cash, ready to buy. I bought nothing.
Customer service does matter to me.
Any favorite stores? |

->> Sherrlyn,
I use Pictureline.com when I do local purchases here in Utah.
Their CS has always been fantastic for me and I believe many others as well.
Solid place to deal with, but of course they are located in Utah. |

| ->> Adobe just released Camera RAW version 5.6RC. It says it know supports the 7D so maybe my conversions in Photoshop will be better. The weird thing is that the conversions from Lightroom just using the presets give me a better file than from photoshop and I was under the assumption they both used Camera RAW for the conversion. |

->> I am thinking of picking up a 7D and a fixed wide angle lens.
Is there magnification on this camera, or will a 28mm really be a 28mm? |

->> In case anyone wants to view a shot from yesterday with the 7D. I still am completely happy with the image quality I get with the 7D.
The focus speed and tracking was and is the best I have used so far. I love this camera especially for the price point.
here is a full sized untouched JPEG straight from the camera.
Standard preset with a bump +1 on both saturation and contrast

->> Matthew,
What ISO were you shooting at? Have you shot anything at ISO 3200 or 6400? Just curious about the quality at high ISO's. Thanks...Dan. |

That shot right there was ISO 640.
Here is a link on part 2 of this thread:
http://801images.com/2009-11-11.rar
It is a rar file so you will need something that can open rar files.
The images in that zip range from ISO 1600 to 12500 ISO. |
