5D Mark II Issue

->> Last night while I was shooting, my shutter button on my 5D II mysteriously stopped responding. I have no idea why this might have happened, but the problem ceased after I powered down the camera and removed the batteries. Thankfully I was already finished with my assignment.
On a separate occasion I had the shutter dial at the top stop responding, too. I used the same solution. This particular situation has also happened to me a couple times on my 1D Mark II.
Obviously I'll need to bring this to Canon's attention right away, but has anyone else experienced this? |

->> This issue is quite common when a Canon body is used with an off-brand lens. However, if you are using a Canon lens, then you should have both checked out. Sometimes the lens needs repair. One of the contacts might be starting to go.

->> Good to know! I wish I could remember if it's been the same lens every time this has happened... definitely a Canon lens. Thanks for your response.

->> I had a chance to put a MKII through heavy trials this week in Yosemite; cold temps, low light, many different lenses, hand-held, tripod, everything. This camera is the best thing to come out of Canon in many years. Excellent low light AF, image quality that was out of control excellent, no problems whatsoever. Battery life was tremendous, viewfinder was brilliant... Incredible camera.

->> I had this happen with my mk II once. I was doing a portrait shoot of Ed Koch and I couldn't adjust my aperture - oddly enough the whiz wheel was working.
