->> Hey Guys,
Basketball season is upon us and the college newspaper I work for is looking to do a shoot with 2 of the key players in about a week from now. We are gonna be shooting on the basketball court and I have a few lights that we can play around with. I have a few ideas on what I would like to do with this but was wondering if any of you had advice/suggestions or work that I should look at for some more creative ideas/examples.
Thanks
Robert |

->> I wish I could get that kind of access.
I've only done one with a basketball player and it wasn't till after the season. He graduated with a year of eligibility left and went to another school to play football.
It was done with one light, two separate shots photoshopped together since I only have one light.

My advice would be to incorporate what the story is about into the photo some how. If they're known shooters try and get a cool jump shot. Dunkers get a dunk shot, etc. It's up to you and your imagination in the end. |

->> Hi Rob,
I would look up Steve Boyle's stuff and Dustin Snipes stuff. Both of them shoot some sweet basketball portraits for RISE.
Do it. |
