->> Can anyone recommend a decent pro level photo shop in Boston accessible by public transport? I know about Calumet. Just want to browse somewhere fun.

TIA

->> Try E.P. Levines down on the waterfront, or one of the Hunt's photo branches in Kenmore and Harvard Squares, or the flagship store in Melrose if you're feeling adventurous.

Feel free to contact me at the phone numbers on my member page if you have any questions.

->> Jim if you want to browse nothing beats Levines. Assuming that they haven't cleaned the place there's like 60 years of gear to check through in the used section. The old store on Lincoln St was more of a museum than anything else. Phil was one hell of a character.

I don't know when you are coming up but Hunt's in Melrose not really public transport accessible is having their show soon.

->> E.P. Levine's is a great store just to browse around in as Eric has stated! Looks as though all the bases have been covered.

I'm sure with Hun't if they don't have what you need in the Kenmore or Harvard square stores they can get it fairly quickly.

->> I like EP Levines on Drydock Ave in Boston...as others have mentioned. Hunts Photo out in Melrose is also a good shop.

->> I don't know if they're still there its been a long time since I was a Levine's, but there was a custom background/muslin artist/painter either on the same floor or one floor up. They had many backdrops hanging for inspection and purchase.

The building is a HUGE warehouse complex with dozens of occupants and businesses including tv/movie space. Last time I was there Aerosmith's gear was still in all over one of the floors from having shot a video.

When are you going to be in town?

->> Thanks all. I went to Levines and it had a whole bunch a cool stuff not easily seen and handled. I picked up a few things and lusted over some large format gear that I couldn't find a real use for if I bought...

Just in town for the weekend to visit my daughter.
