Exporting HD movies with DVD Studio Pro 4

->> I'm in need of some help. I have used Final Cut Pro to export my movies to DVD using iDVD many times before, but I dont like the one Pass VBR quality it reproduces.

I've recently been tinkering with DVD Studio Pro and can export HD movies to DVD and have them play on my computer without issues and the quality is how it should be--excellent.

When I try to play that copy on a DVD player it says it cannot read.Ive tried burning with differnt brands and playing on differnt DVD players, nothing. I've tried exporting from Final Cut using either a Quicktime movie, or Quicktime Conversion to create an HD movie.

What should my settings be at? my frame size is 1280x720 HDTV 720p.
Thanks.
chad.

->> Chad,

Your content is HD, so you need an HD disc player, and an HD Disc, such as a Blu-Ray disc. You might be able to put the content on a DVD-R and play it on a multi format player, but it's certainly not to spec. Your best bet is some multi format player like something made by Apex, a computer or laptop, or maybe a Playstation 3.

->> Makes sense. I associated the HD disc with the HD TV instead of the 4 yr old DVD player. Thanks Max.
