Direct mail postcard printing - who do you use?
Alex Witkowicz, Photographer

->> I'm in the process of designing and printing postcards for a direct mail campaign.

I'm curious to hear from those that have used online companies like ModernPostcard.com, Overnightprints.com, etc.

ModernPostcard looks great, but they are expensive, and they have a no-refund policy which is a big turn off.

Anyone have luck with a local printer, or something like Staples or Kinkos?

What about just printing cards yourself? With the cost of ink, printing 250+ postcards at home might be just as expensive as ordering online, but at least I'll have total control over color and quality, and will be able to print multiple variations of the card for a more tailored marketing approach.

Any advice is appreciated.

->> hey Alex,

I was able to save alot of money by getting my postcards made at gotprint, I designed them my self, than I got a postal meter from pitney bowes and metered them myself. I wasted a good day but it saved me a good chunk of change. I also returned the meter within 60 days so I wasn't charged for it just the postage I used.

->> I've used Overnightprints.com for business cards and once for postcards. Easy, painless setup and ordering, shipped promptly, and nice quality all for a reasonable price. Will probably be using them again.

->> I second PJ's recommendation for psprint.com

I used them for postcard printing. I think my biggest order was 30,000. They're quick, they're inexpensive, and their print quality was good. I didn't use them for actually mailing, but they were so much better than 4over4.com which is what everyone was telling me to use.
