Invoice software recommendations

->> Similar threads on this subject have been started, but this is is a bit different; the others didn't answer my question:

I'm looking for stupid-simple invoicing software. The freeware or shareware or other inexpensive kind.

I don't want the powerful Hindsight or quickbooks or the like. I'm only writing invoices and tracking them, nothing else. Don't want to track stock sales, have it generate estimates create client databases: invoices only.

There's a butt ton of them online, but can't seem to find one that is compatible with gmail, and/or customizable (don't need things like "item" or "product" fields for example, which most of them have).

Any help?

->> Still looking.

Kbillings is a confusing mess. Gave up after 15 minutes in the trial version. Downloaded Billings, but it seems to be more for tracking time than writing invoices. Checked out freshbooks but fields in there aren't customizable and I don't really want the thing to be online.

Other recommendations?

I really like it so far; very easy to use and to keep track of overdue invoices etc.
