->> This single video piece from CNN about the tensions and mayhem surrounding the Balloon Boy and media coverage speaks volumes.

Senior and even doctoral theses for j-schoolers could reference this clip for topics ranging from:
- public perception of the media
-wolfpack journalism
-what's wrong with the 24/7/365.25 news cycle?
-If Papa Heene smacked the still photographer trespassing on his property to grab the front-on shot as shown in this clip, who is "more wrong."
-Are Full-Nelsons aren't the most effective containment hold when public perception of the media turns sketchy.
- Flannels, sweats, and sneakers: stakeout shooter's uniform of choice.
Discuss. Extra points will be awarded for Area 51 and other conspiracy theory tie-ins. |

->> When the police showed up the guy who was cited is the guy who was making threatening gestures and using abusive language. It's strange to hear him try to act like a victim (ie "He jumped on me from behind") when he was the one who was chasing people and acting in a threatening manner.
I think it's strange that you watch a video of a guy trying to provoke a fight and instead of taking issue with his violent behavior you want to discuss, among other things, the way the journalists are dressed. |
