->> Some interesting comments after the article:
"Well, there is a solution to layoffs - start charging for on-line content, I’d pay….seriously. Why not?"
"SHUT OFF your website. Stop giving the news away for free. If you have to go down into the dust, at least do so fighting all the way."
"I want to pay for my online use of the New York Times. I read the site multiple times a day. I can’t imagine life without it. Why oh why can’t somebody come up with a good way to get this money out of the hundreds of thousands of readers who would gladly pay for the content? Figure it out now! I have my credit card ready." |

->> Sean, Luke isn't alone, I was surprised to read that a lot of the comments at the bottom of the story were just like his. There has got to be a way for the newspapers to start charging for content!!

->> Just to clarify, the comments I posted in quotations aren't mine, they were quoted from commenters at the bottom of the blog page on nytimes.com.

->> There is a very easy way for newspapers to start charging for content and it starts with the wires prohibiting their content from being given away. After that, readers will HAVE to pay for the local news.

->> You know Michael you are right... I have said it, others have said it, and I am sure that is not the only solution... but the guy who probably brought it up to the old school guys probably was laughed at... sad but true... but just like anything out there... no one wants to listen to the little guy... or they just don't care because the guy at the top is still making his/her profit margin and living in a $100 million home.... but then again I could be wrong...

->> Yeah, that's easy. Easy to say. Impossible to implement.
